i've got some studded snows for my v8.. as the other guy said, traction
has never been a problem and the snows are really for the purpose of
stopping.  as i've posted before, one winter i slammed on the brakes
in a packed snow covered parking lot to see how much stopping power
i had.. there was so much grip that the abs did not even activate..
well, i wasn't going that fast, but the stopping power was very
reassuring.

then there was a giant patch of ice in another parking lot where i did
braking tests..  definitely a win for the studs over regular tires.

i recommend snows to everyone who has to drive in winter weather.
