As a matter of interest, when you get an Audi serviced at a VAG/Audi dealership
in Germany, it's normal practice for a small blue card (about 2" square) to be
clipped to the invoice. This is from a standard compression test - whilst
they're changing the plugs they screw in the leads from a gauge and crank the
engine. The device logs the compression by rpm, so you have a trace you can
keep with your service history.

UK dealerships don't seem to do this test as a matter of routine.
