I had an idle problem recently with the '87 5000CSQTW. It would just die,
sometimes. I removed the idle stabilizer valve and cleaned it out with
carb cleaner and worked the soleniod with the unit filled with the carb
cleaner using a power supply. The goop that came out was NASTY! I kept
cleaning and working the solenoid 'till the excrement looked clean.
Reinstalled and bassoon! Rock-steady idle. Nice when a cheap, easy fix
  WORKS! :)
