No Subject

In my ongoing saga of the failing wastegate, I yanked 
the thing apart and found the the 'valve' is really
more of a rubber gasket (diaphram?) and is in fact badly
cracked. The problem is that it is not really rubber
(feels like it), but is some white material that I 
presume will stand up to some heat. Does anybody know
what this stuff really is and where I could get some
raw stock. The fabrication on the gaskey seems quiter
simple if I could find the appropriate material.
