On my QTC the problem was due to the distributor sensor signal coming back
to the ECU at the wrong time. In my case the problem was intermittent and
seemed to be related to ambient temperature. The limp-home mode was more
likely to be activated on hot summer days. I haven't had the problem since
I carefully lined up the mark on the distributor to the mark on the head.
