Mike asks; >The car seemed a little slugish compared to what I remember it being, but then again I'm used to my Stage II TQ, so it could be my imagination. The car runs great still, but is there a high altitude adjustment that should be performed on it?< My Bentley manual specifies that normal tuneup adjustments be performed at the primary altitude of operation (probably timing and idle speed only). The control pressure regulator and the lambda control system should provide compensation for altitude. At any rate the air up there has 25 to 30% less oxygen, therefore you get 25 to 30% less horsepower. A big difference without a turbo and a waste- gate to regulate the intake manifold pressure (and therefore oxygen). When I last went skiing in Colorado I noticed that all of the tour busses there were powered by turbo diesels. I rarely see that here in Massachusetts. Don Hoefer '82 Coupe
