>Any danger to electrical connections with steam-cleaning the engine bay? I don't know about your '88 but in my 84-87 Bentley manual, they say the engine compartment has a anti-rust clear coating. Steam cleaning removes this. If you must steam clean, they advise respraying the engine compartment when your done. I advise not doing this at all. The various spray on cleaners, such as "Gunk" work well. I'm sure Gunk would also remove this coating but, if you spray carefully, you can keep it just on the engine. The high pressure soap and water hoses at the "do it yourself" car wash work pretty well too. Barry '86 4000CS Quattro
