Quick silver wheel cleaner and pad wear sensor connectors

     I have recently started using Quick Silver cleaner on my 100S, and
     interestingly, both brake pad wear sensors wires have failed about 2 
     weeks apart (Brake pads have 1/8" left on them).  The drivers side one 
     just fell out when I reached to check it (gently).  I am now 
     suspecting the wheel cleaner for corroding the wires at the point 
     where they mate to the pads - there is no insulation at that point.
     Does this sound plausible, or is 1/8" pad thinkness really the point 
     where the sensor's circuit is broken?
