I've seen several discussions on fixing the A/C programmer in these pages. One question I haven't seen answered is where to do the solder repair. I have an '86 5000cstq that has had A/C problems for a while. I resoldered the connections of the solenoid wires to the pins that go through the programmer circuit board. After this fix, the A/C worked great for a few days, then reverted to its old self. Air is coming out the floor and or defroster vents when set to Auto or Bi-Level. Last night, I could hear one of the solenoids chattering and the dash vents were not supplying any air. I suspect I made (at least) one bad solder joint. I intend to resolder them tonight. Did I fix the right solder joints? Should I be looking at the solder jointsd between the pins and the board? Any help here is greatly appreciated. Allan Tygert tygera@rpi.edu
