So are you saying I can go to the junk yard, pull a set of gauges off a regular 4000, and connect them to existing sensors on my 83 QTC? That would be wonderful! I too had the 4000 RPM problem. I was reading the service supplement, and I only saw a reference to the airtemp sensor (in intake) and the idle switch (on throttle body). As I recall, if the switch is shorted, or the airtemp info is bad, it limits the RPM to 4000.
