Shef, 
I have seen more than 1 Audi turbo throw a timing belt and lunch the
valves, while the non-turbos as far as I know (asked my mechanic) as safe
from valve intrusion.  Basicall go beyond 60K at our pwn risk, ask any 16V
VW owner!
