Front door latch

Well it looks like I get to make an offering to the Audi gods again!!

This weekend the passenger door mechanism has decided to become "hard to 
open".  Nothing appears to be broken YET but I suspect that someone will 
break the handle soon.  I replaced this handle (actually both front door 
handles) less than two years ago.  The inside latch operates as hard as 
the outside so I suspect it has something to do with the internal 
mechanism.  If I push in slightly as I activate the latch it seems much 
less "hard" to open.

Does anyone have ideas on what I can do to eliminate the "hadness"?
