I may be wrong, but I've seen a number of other sources referring  to the
current generation A6, and most recent generation 100, as the C4.  This is
the parlance of the German motoring press, for instance.  Am I missing
someting in your chart?

I believe that the original Audi 100LS was the C1 and the upcoming next
generation will be the C5.
