Here's my experience with GE Platinum:
I got it on my NEW 93 Eurovan. It covers everything covered during the
first year by the manufacturer, ergo Almost EVERYTHING, minus wear-and-
tear stuff like oil. I got it for dealer cost, as part of an intense
bargaining process. It cost me $435.00.
The $1700+ price your dealer is quoting probably contains at least a
100% profit for them. Why not try to bargain them down. I've been
please with the coverage. I've made about $200 in claims so far and they've
been very accomodating and prompt.
