I need to replace my water pump this week. Problem is, I don't need to replace my timing belt - it has <30K miles on it. Can the timing belt cover backing plate be modified so that I DON'T have to tear down the front end, etc, etc, etc. I really just want to swap water pumps and go on with life. I tried looking through the Archives with no luck - but I seem to remember someone mentioning this a few months ago.
