Greetings, First off, I would like to thank all those individuals who were gracious enough to respond to my questions. I cannot see how anyone could afford NOT to communicate with this list before buying an Audi, your opinions are truly informative. The responses ran the full gauntlet, from a veritable "buy it now!" endorsement, to a "run.... screaming and bang your head against a concrete wall!" cautionary. To my dismay, I learned that the vehicle in question was involved in a serious accident several years ago, and was declared a insurance write-off (left drivers side, fender, rear bumper). Even more worrisome was the haphazard repair job done, revealed by a closer inspection on a hydraulic lift. In defense of the seller, he was very forthcoming with information, but just failed to mention this tidbit during our initial conversation (although I never asked). In any case I feel that structural damage would render this car unsafe, and considering this was going to be the daily transportation for my better half, I have reasoned not to continue negotiations. Once again, thank you very much for your responses, and I will continue my search! Regards, Raagi Pandya Montreal, Canada
