There is a spring underneath the ball that holds the shifter that would be
the "centering" mechanism....  this is a common size spring, and can be
replaced fairly easily....  You may want to pull the 2 rods off the trans and
ck the centering action first tho, this will eliminate a binding or mal
adjusted linkage....
