Up here in Minnesota we get it all the time. These exact simptoms are experienced when you put in bad gasoline! It's called vapor lock. Pockets of vapor form in your fuel line. My 5k CSTQ as well as my mom's '91 100 do that all the time if we fill up anywhere, but AMOCO. It happens a lot more on hot days. My friend's Honda Inspire AWD I5 and Taurus GL do that too. So fill up somewhere else like AMOCO, SHELL (I don't know what is considered BRAND gas station is your area) and most likely it'll go away with second if not first fill up.
