Peter - look inside the jack points on the outer frame rails, and there are round rubber pads about 6" inwards. Those are the lift points. > From: dan_masi@MENTORG.COM (Dan Masi) > A friend of mine told me that he heard that Blue Coral's liquid > protectant, the stuff with "Fomblin-A", is great for protecting > wheels from brake dust. Don't hold out too much hope, Dan...I used Blue Coral's Fomblin-A stuff and it lasted about the same length of time as any good wax would. And I waxed those wheels generously! > From: Mark Shilling <shilling@txchemcouncil.com> > 1) AoA says dealer has to look at it first to determine whether or > not it is > recall material. $ > 2) Dealer says even if the problem *is* recall based they most likely won't > cover it (90% chance)! $$ > 3) Factory exchange transmission is $2800, plus I'd have to rent one of > their cars (only $30/day) for the 4-5 days they are working on it. $$$. > 4) This is the dealer in San Antonio (1 1/2 hours away), because they have a > good reputation, whereas I wouldn't even let the local dealer change my oil > - - even if they loaned me an S4 for the day! Mark - I don't know how this will work out, but I DO have an excellent transmission guy in College Station - he did the tranny on my 1990 200. If you want his phone number to call him and talk with him, let me know. It's John's Transmission in Bryan, TX . Talk to John...he's a real character, but boy, is he an artist with transmissions.
