"All season" means that you have a bad tire all year round. Sorry, much as I hate contributing to noisy flame fests (tell me, if I going sideways but my tires are "spinning" at the correct rate for my forward velocity, is it still "wheelspin"?), a "good" "high per- formance" "all season" tire is a damn good tire to have. Yes, it is only 9.5 tenths of the ideal true dedicated high-performance tire for the conditions du jour, but it's at least 13 tenths of having yes- terday's du-jour-tire on today's different conditions. The concept of "one" all-round (umph, so to speak) damn-good-tire is clearly viable. This is not to say that s****y "all season" tires aren't available, they are, by the boatload. -RDH
