Hi Scott, you're asking: >Have you rebuilt a brake pressure accumulator before? It is the only hydrolic unit that I hadn't rebuilt yet, fortunately it never broke down on me. Not all the cars I owned were Audis (alas!). The regular people haulers have vacuum assists, and they are very difficuilt to break. >Also, do you rebuild calipers for other folks and charge a fee or is it >enough to keep up with rebuilds on your own car? Just curious in case I >need a hydraulic rebuild in the future. Well, how would I put it...I am not in the car repair business. I just happen to have this weird hobby. Although I'd be glad to give you a detailed advice on everything I've done myself in the past. BTW, my fiche shows the existence of a rebuild kit for the accumulator. Should such a necessity occur, I'd most cirtainly rebuild it myself. >Just spent $250 on a new pressure accumulator, but the list had a >disscusion last year on new vs rebuilt "bombs" and the overwelming >agreement was to go with a new bomb. What are your thoughs? As far as I know, our bomb is not rebuildable. The check valve is integrated into the N2 container. Now THIS is the field where The Ultimate Bragging Machine sure beats Audi.
