[Author Prev][Author Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Author Index][Thread Index] Eibach/Bilstein suspension for 90Coupe quattro?
Hi all, As per many recommendations from the q-list, I visited Frank Sprongl at Four Star Racing, here near Toronto. I wanted to re-do the suspension, which is still stock and 6 years old. Frank advised me to go with Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks. At the same time, he'll bore my rotors and put slotted MetalMasters all around, and a K&N filter. All of this is on order, and should take place in 2 weeks or so, but I'm still wondering what experience other Coupe owners have with this combination of springs/shocks. I have 2 concerns: - does this combo lend itself to city driving (expansion joints, bumps, potholes) without wearing a kidney belt? - to get to my cottage, I have to drive 15 minutes on an uneven dirt road. My clearance will be reduced by about 1.25"; I know this is a static measurement --- when I go over bumps, my dynamic clearance shouldn't be changed much, since the springs are stiffer, right? I hope this won't cause problems with the uneven grade.
