I was sent on a 'Defensive Driving' course once, run by the British School of Motoring. Lots of sensible stuff, like not applying lock when waiting to turn across traffic in case you get rear-ended and sent into oncoming vehicles. Loads of tips like that. One part I am _having_ to unlearn - it was the advice to stay on the left of the lane for right hand bends, and on the right for left hand bends. You can see further round the bends, is the theory.
