They tried the GATSO's here in Ontario. There was such a political uproar (and change of gov't) over this revenue device that the newly elected gov't retired the units. They were moved around the province in minivans. An observant driver will usually see the van and slow down. The important thing is how fast you slow down. These GATSO units are supposed to capture vehicles travelling up to 200 km/h. Just like normal radar, these device actually take numerous speed measurements over a fraction of a second. The speed (dv/dt) is not supposed to be changing too much, or else it won't "lock". ie.... slam on your brakes! Don't give up until you see the flash. Tony K Toronto, Ontario 1993 100Q-CS
