Well, the time is approaching for my long drive to Virginia--right at 1000 miles. As those of you who DRIVE your Audi's (as opposed to putting about in them..) know it's quite easy to drastically exceed the posted speed limit [not that I advocate this... :} ]. My fastest time summer drive time has been 13 hours 47 minutes (in my 4000s), including 2 20 minute stops, but I'd like to get there a bit quicker because the daylight hours are limited this time of year. I've been putting off buying a good radar detector because I'm not sure I'll be in the States in another few months, but I have come across a decent deal (possibly). Venture (like Wal-Mart, etc) has an ad for a: Whistler Model 1430 Superwideband Radar/Laser detector. 360 degrees detection, Regular $129.00, Sale $64.99. Is this thing worth the money? Anyone had experiences with Whistler in general or this model specifically? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
