Another interesting tidbit in EC (well, about the only interesting thing in there, this mag reads like a flyer from all the tuners...) is that the later Fuba antennas route power and signal through a single wire, not two like before, and you may need an adaptor to split the wire to an aftermarket radio. This mostly applies to the VW line, but could be worth a call to Crutchfield, they sell the adaptor. Also check your ground to the antenna base - it was common for rust to develop on the VWs isolating the antenna.
