I was faced with the dsame dilemma this summer. The windows worked
unpredictably, as did the door locks. (It was usually during a heavy
downpour when the windows refused to close!)After checking on replacement
harness prices, I chose to replace the broken wires individually. Instead
of making the splices in the door jam area, I removed the inside door
panel, as well as the inside driver's kick panel. I then made the splices
in those areas, which kept the thickness of the harness in the door jam
down to a minimum.
Worked great!
