Yeah, I know (see my recent repost). I got that kit for $15 locally this past Summer. > Alan Cordeiro > '86 5kQ, no leaks (from the ZF) for over 1.5 years > ( other leaks.... will soon consider steering rack rebuild/replace... > also need to replace the "bomb" one of these days....#$$$ hydraulics) Along with a P/S pump rebuilt I replaced the bomb, a pressure hose and rebuilt the rack. You gonna need a coupla special tools, in order to do the rack. I had to machine mine. If you are serious about rebuilding it yourself, I can give you the dimensions, so you won't spread the whole project over a week's time, waiting for a machinist to build the tools. The rack rebuilt is a fairly complex job. It ain't no simple caliper or P/S pump rebuild, x-cuze my English here. But like I said in a previous post, I had some horrible experience with the hydrolic parts, rebuilt by a third party, so as of several years ago I either perform the rebuild myself (zero failure rate so far) or bite the bullet and buy a new unit, if a rebuilt kit is unavailable.
