>When I start my engine the ABS light in my dashboard is not visible. >After 1 or 2 miles the light turns on. I presume this is wrong and >therefore wonder if someone could tell me a reason to why this is >happening? Tim, my ABS experience is limitted to my '87 TQ, but I'll take a shot at it anyhow. I was having the same problem after having a CV boot replaced. The moron who replaced the boot tried for three days to get the light to go out, never worked. Eventually I fooled with the thing myself, and got hte light to stay out. Basically, your speed sensor is out of spec. Too close (less likely, and a good way to destroy the sensor) or too far out (more likely.) With mine it was easy to fix, I knew which CV boot was replaced & guessed (correctly) that that was the sensor out of whack. I'd guess that you could put the car on a rack & spin wheels (with the ignition on) 'till you got hte light & figure out the out of spec sensor that way, but I don't know if that would actually work or not... Anyhow, you can get new plastic caps that take care of the spacing b/t the sensor and the axel from any dealer (cheapest thing you'll ever buy from a dealer!)
