The reason Moss is still alive is that he was incapable of driving during the 
ten years or so it took him to recover from a truly horrendous accident.  It 
was months before he could speak, and about a year before he could walk.

In his day, he was known as a _great_ breaker of cars.  When we were watching 
Moss racing, my father used to say things like: "Well, he can't win now - time 
for him to break down."
