StonGard like material on my A4

While enjoying the 65 degree weather this weekend and applying some
suds to the new car I noticed something. There appears to be some
transparent film covering the backs of both the side mirrors. Looks
alot like a "Stongard" like material. Could not find any more anywhere
in the car.

Anyone else notice this?
