A4 Daylight Running Lights in U.S.

I note that new Canadian A4s come with daylight running lights, but that
the U.S. ones do not.  A couple of questions occur to me:

What lights are used?  Fog lights?  Low Beam Headlights?  Additional
lights?  Do they use the same lamps as in the U.S?

Since I am a big fan of daylight running lights, I have on several
occasions run down my battery by forgetting to turn off my headlights while
parked in the middle of the day.  Is there a simple change to implement
daylight running lights in my new A4 that will switch off when I turn off
the ignition (and don't leave the parking lights on!)?  Can I do it myself?
Can a dealer do it for me?
