..... I would second this and encourage it.... It gives us back the
sanctity of real world evaluation of products advertised in that vendor
area.... And gives all SC competition the same and fair access to the
potential business available on the q-net.....
More than a few folks have misused the list for commercial puposes, most
without the staying power of Mr. Wales..... However, might there be
advantage to having the "information" Peter or Ned or others,
Me thinks so, from a vendor and a lister perspective.....
Good thinking Mr. Powell.... Dan, is this idea virtual or realistic?

And a very good point from the reality side, we all know you have your
full.... I would propose that a call be made as to the PW/SC issue at
point.... My recollection of PW response to your ad warning was that
deletion of the SC postscripts was not only appropriate, but an AGREED
by Mr. Wales.....
There are SEVERAL vendors that lurk this list and have easy pickens to
"direct" posting for individual sales..... From a marketing
that is a lot of work. It is much easier to cc: Coimbra for maximum
and effect.... My thinking is that Mr. Wales should HAVE to work as
the rest of the vendors, by following this protocol.... If we do not
him do so, and allow him to continue at his current SC salutation, you
opened the forum of post to allow any and all vendors to do the
is the fair and equitable thing to do with all do respect to Mr. Wales,
more appropriately, to HIS competition.
If you continue that argument string, this net will become the on-line
"QuattroCar Magazine" complete with SC, IA, Hoppen, as well as Dealer
discussed late last year. On this topic, you have made yourself well
understood, Dan, and Mr. Wales has continually ignored any type of
self-regulation/control in this respect. So, outside forces are
here; ie, you da man......
We are not, nor should not be, an easy target for the Peter Wales of the
world. That is not the intent nor spirit of this net. I remain a
advocate of proper protocol, the intrigue of "black box" secrets should
be our alluring Siren. Cuz, bottom line, Peter is a business man, and
demonstrated a strong desire to be more SC than PW in his posts to
clearly, a vendor, by definition.
As you can see, some on the list felt ads type information (infomercial
e-mail) could be misused/abused, so why chase Peter Wales off of the
list and let others blatantly advertise for their own benefit? Methinks
some are hypocrites on this list. The rule is no ads on the list, so
either we give info with no mention that we sell the products/mods, or
you can e-mail privately to that person informing them that you do. The
bottom line is that info is good, but leave the sales pitch out.
