It means "built-in priority over other vehicles".  Germans on Autobahns
will move over for certain types of radiator grill, but not for
others.  No matter how fast you make your Passat, you'll still get held
up by drivers staying in the outside lane because they don't believe
you can cheerfully go faster than them.
