Mark, And someone correct me here if I'm wrong, but if the previous tires had a tread wear problem in the manner that you describe, I believe there may have been undue wear and tear on the bushings as well. If the bushings are a bit beat up, you may need to have them replaced before you realize a complete remedy to your problem.
