Might also have something to > do with the rotary's legendary thirst Around the time this issue was on the table at Audi, Road & Track pointed out that for maybe 2% of the cost of developing a new Wankel, Audi could develop a turbo'ed version of their piston engine, and be sure of selling every car that had one.
