>Celebrated my big 60 last Sunday with a blast over the Appalachian Gap in >my Audi. If you're in Vermont it is well worth a side trip to do this. >It is rt 17 between Bristol and Waitsfield. Lots of hairpins but good >visibility for most of the climb. View at top is great and on the bottom >in Waitsfield is a dealer with lots of Audis in the lot. No >recommendations but its great to see so many gathered together. > BTDT -- Very fun! A right b!tch in the winter though (nearly wrecked at 5 mph!). Going both ways is the key -- it feels much steeper going up toward Waitsfield than going down the other way. Great fun. (and don't forget to have a Long Trail at the Club when you're done!) The dealer you speak of seems to know his business too -- it's not unusual to see a couple S4's and a bunch of Avants there (ski country you know). Last time I drove through he had a Jaguar E-type 2+2 coupe (silver with red guts, beautiful!) We should do another Kank run (forget I said that!) Bob Davis bob@seg.net
