[Author Prev][Author Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Author Index][Thread Index] Disabling FP Relay cut-out
I was attempting to send a reply to Mike Del Tergo, but it appears that his AOL account may be misbehaving. He had asked me for info about which wire needs to be grounded on a 5k to disable the fuel pump cutout by the ECU. All my attempts have bounced, so I'll post to the list. It may allow others who have the complete directions to comment as well ... =========================================================================== Well, I got out the Bentley and checked the wiring for the '87-'88 5kCSQ ... there appear to be a few connections between the FP Relay and the ECU. I think the primary candidate is the Br/G wire that goes from pin 21 on the ECU to pin BS on the fuse box and pin 47/T on the fuel pump relay. The thing is that if you simply ground this connection the FP relay will be on all the time that the ignition is on. I don't recall what Charlie suggested ... was it a connection to the oil pressure switch so that you needed oil pressure to get the fuel pump going? I wonder if it'd be possible to retrofit an older FP relay that took a tach input ... I'll look for Charlie's instructions ... If I find them I'll get that info to you ... Take care!
