Sounds like normal maintenance to me. Thermoswitch most of the time just gets wet or corroded. Did you check that before you replaced it? Mine did the same thing and I cleaned the plug and it worked fine. Why does the clutch need to be replaced all the sudden? Is it slipping or did a mechanic tell you you needed it. Hoses fall under normal maintanance and any car with your presumed miles 100-135k will need hoses. Also the clutch has probably lasted longer than just about any cars clutch will. Granted this all may be bad timing but you bought a car with high miles. If it does not have high miles you got a lemon. And please don't tell me you put pentosin into the 4kq. Pat Martin 864000csq 2 1/2 cat back, H&R-Boge,advanced and loving it. Drilled and stopping it. Koenig Cobra 16x7 with AVS Intermediates, turbo coming soon, K&N. 95 subaru legacy Bothell, Wa. sorry for the BW, but I must ask- How does one appease the Audi Gods? I've been trying since I bought my '864KCSQ in April, but with little success. Last Sunday I made the mistake of saying "the car's running great" out loud. Next morning, _BOOM_, dead battery (fan thermoswitch)...today the car got new clutch hydraulics, but now needs a new clutch (~ $700). Last week it was new hoses. I won't go into the detailed list of everything I've replaced since I've had the car, but trust me, it's substantial (especially on a graduate student budget). Is there some sort of a Pentosin Peace Pipe with which I can satisfy the Audi Gods? sorry for venting... Mike
