V8q rear curtain?

Hey, one of my more intelligent co-workers just got himself a *nice*
dark blue '90 V8q (picked over a nice but overpriced '88 M5, good
choice, eh?). After picking it up, we were doing the fine tooth comb
thing, and neither of us geniuses could figure out how to get the rear
sunshade to retract. The owner's manual doesn't say, which would lead me
to believe it should retract automatically, as soon as you remove it
from the little hooks at the top of the rear window. Well, remove away,
and it just sits there. What were we doing wrong, or is it just stuck?
