I have had exactly the same symptoms.
In my case it was the idle switch.

The idle switch activates the ISV. As a quick fix you could disconnect   
the ISV, the revs will be a bit high but at least the car wont stall.

With your A/C problem, I had the same one, replacing the idle switch   
fixed it.

Remember, what I learned, you should repair things from the cheapest to   
the most expensive. At least this appeals to my budget.
