Roof damage? Must have been a stunt deer from Hollywood.
Depending on the level of damage, the roof will be repaired/replaced.
Being that the roof is a vast, basically level piece of steel, any
serious damage to it usually means it needs to be replaced. Replacing a
roof is an expensive proposition, plus you probably have a sunroof,
which makes it even more time-consuming, so if the panel can be saved
they will try to fix it.
Nothing wrong with fixing a roof as they are not under heavy stress so
long term effects on the repair will be little.
Can't really tell you more than that without seeing it.

BTW, useful bit of advice for the rest of you...when in the Bambi
situation, ALWAYS aim for the stupid forest cow. Hitting a deer is
covered by your comprehensive insurance. Swerving to miss the deer and
clobbering a tree is collision, and chargeable against you. I can't
count the number of times I've heard "I swerved to miss a deer" when
looking at damage.
A moose, however, is a different story!
