[Author Prev][Author Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Author Index][Thread Index] Tire Question...
Hey group, I need some quick "BTDT" responses. We have a trip to make next weekend and I need new shoes for the 1990 200. I'm running the BFG Comp TA HR-4's and like them, but want to upgrade to V or Z-rated rubber. Problem is, the BFG Comp TZ VR-4 is not available right now - evidently it's not in production. I have an order in at Discount Tire for some Dunlop Sport 4000's, but the tests I've read indicate this tire may be a bit noisy, and the car is primarily a family car. I'm also looking at some Yokohama AVS S4-Z tires. The tests indicate they may be a bit quieter. Tread wear ratings are about the same. I also like Dunlops, but I'm not going the D40/M2 route because they have a crappy treadwear rating. This is a bummer because I really wanted the BFG's but have to back up and re-think...only have a week to get it done. Any fast observations on the Yoko's AVS-S4 and Dunlop 4000's? Any other suggestions for a performance-oriented all weather tire in 205/60/15 with V or Z rating? My top dollar per tire is about $90. Please reply direct if you have any great thoughts.
