Much thanks for your help with my high idle problem (86 5kcst ,MC motor).
After checking ISV, CIS, vacuum and other relevant stuff I am thinking
about the (keeping fingers crossed)possibility of blown intake or head
gasket. I remember there was some burning smell, resembling burning plastic
and some smoke from underneath the exaust side when the engine warmed up.
As my valve cover has some leakage I discounted this as oil burning on the
outside of exaust manifold, but that has a recognizable smell. Anyway, what
are the symptoms of blown intake and head gaskets? BTW, the vacuum was
reading about 18 inches at 2000rpm idle. My sincere appreciation for the info.
