<V8> Wiper problem

Hi ALL:

Sent this once, but.....here goes again:

As I was driving home Friday evening from Boston in the rain, the wipers
on my '90 V8 started returning to the "rest" position NOT in the down
position, but at a 90 degree angle and I can't seem to make them do
anything else.

Anyone have any ideas?
