Ammonia thread ...

Been watching the thread on ammonia being used to remove (loosen) rust.
... never tried it.   I CAN say though, that ammonia is GREAT for removing
corrosion/verdigris etc. on brass/bronze/copper contacts.  A splash of
ammonia, a couple of rubs with an (old) toothbrush and Bob's yer Uncle.
Bright shining metal.
