This may not apply at all to 5K/200 series cars, but the 4KQ clutch
mechanism has some type of 'unit' connected between the top-most
part of the clutch pedal lever and the firewall that telescopes in and
out as the clutch is depressed and released.
Anyone know what the heck this thing is and what it does?
Mebbe this is the Audi hydrosolator?
Perhaps this 'unit' should be looked at for the clutch pedal 'failure to
return to fully engaged position' failure mode?
