... that may be true today, but there was a time in the '80s when there
was an entry in the Trans Am series that had IRS (AWD AAMOF).  My
recollection was that it even used the stock bodyshell ... ;-)

DISCLAIMER: By no means am I attempting to imply that the Audi quattros
that competed in the Trans Am series were the only cars in the series to
employ IRS, nor the first.  With so many nit pickers on this list (yours
truly included) I felt this statement to be necessary ...  :)
