1986 4000S, Headlight switch

The car in question is a manual 1986 4000S with a 1.8L 4 cylinder
engine (7/85 production date).

My headlight switch is fried (again).  I think this is the 3rd one.  It
seems to normally run incredibly hot (hot to the touch).  The design also
is pretty stupid IMHO.  At this point the wiring harness is also
pretty screwed.  Does anyone know the part number of the wiring harness so
I can get a new one?  And, obviously, is there something I can do to
prevent this from happening again?
