In response to: > How hard are these trannies to rebuild? What has to be replaced > to get it going correctly? Andrei said: If it comes to a rebuild, I would strongly recommend replacing the whole thing with a factory-rebuilt unit on a warranty. Unless you have someone in the area who specializes in Audi boxes, rebuild attempt can turn into a disaster (how about 6 months without a car, lots of frustration, and the box still isn't quite right. THis happened to us with a 4K) >>>>>>>>>>>> Be aware that in many cases Audi does NOT offer a factory replacement transmission. For instance, if you have a faulty automatic trans. in a 1990 200, Audi will sell you a new transmission AND transaxle as an assembly, but will NOT sell the transmission separately. Also, the cost for the combined unit is $3000. IDIOTS!!! They obviously do not want to supply these parts and have priced them accordingly. In such a case, it would be cheaper to ship a transmission out of town to have it rebuilt! ++++++++++++++++++++WSU-CSU+++++++++++++++++ Al Powell Apowell@EZlink.com 1958 Fiat 1200 Spyder "Transformabile" 1983 Datsun 280ZXT 1990 Audi 200 http://www.ezlink.com/~powells/ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
